煉鋒號鑄刀廠大弟子定安（趙文卓飾）被師父選為繼承人，后來他知曉了父親乃慘死于馬賊惡漢飛龍（熊欣欣飾）刀下，大殿供奉的斷刀正是亡父的遺物。定安帶斷刀出走，師父女兒向靈（桑妮飾）為愛而追尋，卻被馬賊所擄，定安舍身相救時竟不幸右手被斬墮下山崖。 斷手后定安自思報仇無望，本想就此退隱江湖，不料又拾得半本絕世刀譜，于是決心秘密練刀為父報仇。可又因刀譜殘缺無法練成，最后定安苦思之后自創獨臂斷刀刀法，他能否救得了危難中的煉鋒號并手刃殺父仇人飛龍？
