坐落在英國倫敦南部摩天大廈“碎片大廈”中的香格里拉酒店，終于在萬眾矚目中開業了。這座酒店處處流露出與眾不同的氣質：它避開富人聚集的西倫敦，是倫敦南部的第一座五星級酒店；又毗鄰泰晤士河和圣保羅大教堂，風景獨好；地處碎片大廈，內有歐洲最高的酒吧。同時，酒店又很有個性：雇傭本地人，即使他們對五星級服務一無所知以及；由于建筑結構獨特，能看到隔壁房間；開業當天，竟然只有酒店大堂全部完工。本片從香格里拉酒店多個職員的角度，見證了這座豪華酒店從坎坷的模擬運營一步步邁入正軌，也見證了全體員工的辛酸、歡樂和成長。
